History

Jimmy Dolan - who later built The Dolan House - was a key character in the Lincoln County War.  He fought against John Tunstall who had hired the outlaw Billy the Kid.

Every year the Escape of Billy the Kid from the Lincoln County Jail is re-enacted.  Thousands of people show up to relive history on the first weekend in August.
